Odontometry with an apical locator is often hampered by the presence of metal, perforation or invaginated tissue in the endodontic space, due to interference caused by the passage of electric current. A simple way out may be the use of a piece of a suction tip that serves as an insulator and allows the locator to work correctly. In this clinical case, this resource allowed odontometry after previous failed attempts.
