The Wave One Gold system is a reciprocating file system with high tapers, ideal for wider, straighter anterior teeth and posterior teeth.

Endodontics presents constant technological and scientific advances, and nowadays several instrumentation techniques and materials are used to perform a faster and more efficient preparation. Recently, the Wave One Gold Reciprocating System has been introduced, which has new characteristics for a NiTi file. It has a parallelogram cross-section, which operates continuously changing its direction of rotation during canal preparation, providing better cutting ability. This allows only one or two cutting edges to come into contact with the canal wall, minimizing the "sticking" effect, and thus preventing possible fracture.

During canal preparation, it has its greatest counterclockwise and smallest clockwise movement. Wave One Gold goes through several stages of heating after its manufacture, and has a golden color as a result of oxidation. The aim of this study was to report, through a clinical case, the efficiency of the Wave One Gold in the instrumentation of the canals in the endodontic treatment of a dental element #36 that presented irreversible pulpitis and only two canals. The tooth was anesthetized, isolated, odontometry performed, instrumented and filled in a single session.

It was observed that the Wave One Gold is very promising in root canal instrumentation, due to its manufacture with Gold-Wire heat treatment, which provides greater strength and 80% higher lexibility than other NiTi instruments, thus avoiding deviations and steps, and performing a more agile and efficient instrumentation.
