FKG Race file. Basic description of the FKG Race rotary file system, suggested for the students in our courses, part of the guide for the main systems available in Brazil.
FKG Race File. Manufacturer's description:
Race instruments can be used in ad-hoc sequences according to the physician's need and are also available in specific sequences. They are delivered in sterile and non-sterile packs.
All Race family instruments feature a unique non-screw design (alternate cutting edges), an electro-chemical polish that improves resistance to fatigue and corrosion, increased flexibility that allows the user to follow the curvatures of the canal, and a rounded safety tip that ensures perfect centering of the instrument inside the canal.
PreRace files guarantee the same operation as Gates and Peeso files, but with greater security thanks to their anti-screw design, rounded security tip, and larger taper.
Available in Steel or NiTi, they allow the option of side-by-side milling without being too invasive or presenting a risk of perforation. They are used on the coronal part and on the straight part of the canal to remove interferences and facilitate access to the canal.
- Ø ISO 30/.06, 40/.06 (NiTi), 35/.08, 40/.10 (NiTi/Sst)
- Length: 19 mm
- Ideal speed: 600 rpm (minimum 400 rpm)
- Torque: 1.5 Ncm
Three instruments make up the Race ISO 10 range, all with ISO 10 size and .02, .04 and .06 taper. They are intended to achieve the working length (WL) when the manual K ISO 6 or 8 files are no longer suitable for advancing in calcified or very narrow canals. The canal preparation will be completed using the instruments presented in the "Shaping and cleaning the canal" chapter.
- 3 instruments: ISO 10/.02,10/.04 and 10/.06
- Lengths: 21, 25, 31 mm
- Ideal speed: 800 rpm (minimum 600 rpm)
- Torque: 1.5 Ncm
Lima FKG Race. Scout Race:
Used for mechanized flapping of highly curved or S-shaped canals, ScoutRace is a sequence of three Race instruments with a taper of .02 and ISO diameters of 10, 15 and 20. As first pass instruments, they are used after the working length (WL) has been determined with hand files K or an apex locator. The canal preparation will be completed using the instruments presented in the "Shaping and cleaning the canal" chapter.
- 3 instruments: ISO 10/.02,15/.02 and 20/.02
- Lengths: 21, 25, 31 mm
- Ideal speed: 800 rpm (minimum 600 rpm)
- Torque: 1.5 Ncm
